Privacy Policy

Introduction
MyMedClarity ("we", "us", "our") operates an educational web application that helps users understand medical documents in plain language. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MyMedClarity, you agree to the practices described here.
MyMedClarity is not a healthcare provider, and this Privacy Policy is not a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. We do not represent that MyMedClarity is HIPAA-compliant. Do not upload information you are not comfortable processing through a general-purpose consumer software service.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, and any name or preferences you choose to add.
- Documents you upload: files (PDFs and images) and any text extracted from them for the purpose of generating an explanation.
- Generated content: the plain-language explanations, translations, appointment preparation notes, and medication summaries we produce for you.
- Language and interface preferences.
- Feedback you send through the in-app feedback form.
- Technical data: basic log data such as timestamps, error reports, and coarse device information used to keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use your information
- To provide the core features you request — analyzing documents, generating explanations, translating them, and saving them to your account.
- To authenticate you and protect your account.
- To improve reliability, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
- To respond to feedback and support requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the contents of your uploaded documents for advertising.
AI processing and subprocessors
To generate explanations and translations, the text and images you upload are sent to third-party AI model providers through the Lovable AI Gateway. These providers process your content solely to return the requested output. We do not authorize them to use your content to train their public foundation models. We cannot, however, guarantee the internal practices of every upstream provider — do not upload information you would not want processed by an automated system operated by a third party.
We also rely on a backend hosting provider (Supabase / Lovable Cloud) to run our database, authentication, and file storage. These providers act as data processors on our behalf.
Storage, access controls, and security
Documents and generated explanations are stored in your account and are only readable by you when signed in. Access is restricted using row-level security rules in our database and signed, time-limited URLs for file downloads. Transport is protected with HTTPS/TLS.
No system is perfectly secure. We do our best to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. Report any security concern to security@mymedclarity.com.
Deletion and retention
You can delete any document you have uploaded from the document detail page. When you delete a document, we remove both the stored file and the generated analysis from active storage. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact privacy@mymedclarity.com.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To make a request, email privacy@mymedclarity.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
MyMedClarity is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use of MyMedClarity after an update means you accept the revised policy.
